National Physical Education Grants Initiative
The grant is designed to enable certified physical education teachers in public and private schools to implement a new or improved fishing or boating program in their school. The grant award will be up to $5,000.00 based on several factors.

To assist the candidates in applying for the grant, the Future Fisherman Foundation placed the following information on it's web site, http://www.futurefisherman.org:
- Grant Application - a PDF file that contains the grant application
- Resource Guide - a list of state contacts who can assist teachers with developing their program (PDF).  (This document will be updated regularly, therefore if your information needs to changed in anyway, please let us know ASAP). - a list of national associations, national programs and web sites to assist with their program development (PDF)
- Learning Goals/ Expected Outcomes - minimum skills and knowledge a student should learn in the program (PDF)
- Support, Equipment, Materials - a price list (soon to be available)

Wal-mart Support for children, education, and environment
SUMMARY: Our grass roots style of giving enables local associates to identify and support organizations that are improving the quality of life in their local area. All of our funding initiatives are directed by Wal-Mart Store, SAMÆS CLUB and Distribution Center associates in their own communities. Wal-MartÆs community involvement approach is a unique one. Associates combine volunteer support with Wal-Mart donations to assist organizations in making a positive difference. Children are the heart, soul and future of any community, so weÆre proud to be involved at the local level in programs that benefit children. It is our fondest wish that each and every child has the opportunity to lead a healthy, happy and fulfi lling childhood. The education of our youth today has a profound impact on our community tomorrow. It is with this in mind that we invest locally in our future through a variety of educational opportunities for students, teachers and the community.
The environment and the preservation of our natural resources are also important to us. That's why we, as associates, pursue environmentally sound business practices, and we're proud to get involved in local recycling projects and other environmental efforts.

What Is Eligible? 501(c)3 organizations - The agency must be in good standing with the IRS and will be verified electronically through the IRS website. Schools - Public, parochial and private. (501(c)3 guideline restrictions may apply.) Religious Organizations - Our funding is directed to projects whose activities impact the general community, not a single group. Government Agencies - A funding confirmation letter from government body may be requested. Civic and Veterans Groups -
Organizations must have a valid 501(c)4 or 501(c)19 tax id number. Funds must be used for a project benefitting the community.

Lowe'sFoundation Funding Opportunity
FUNDER: Lowe's Charitable and Educational Foundation
PROGRAM: Support for education and community improvement
SUMMARY: LoweÆs Charitable and Educational Foundation awards more than $1.5 million annually to individuals and organizations across the United States. Founded in 1957, the FoundationÆs primary philanthropic focus areas include community improvement projects, education scholarships for trade disciplines and environmental initiatives that enhance the natural environment. The Foundation has a long and proud history of contributing to grassroots community projects. The Foundation considers large-scale requests and in order to address issues of importance to local communities, looks for support by local store and district management when reviewing proposals. The Foundation provides funding only to 501(c)(3) organizations in cities where LoweÆs operates. Its primary philanthropic focus areas are: education, and community improvement projects (examples include projects at parks and other public areas, housing for the underprivileged and innovative environmental initiatives)
