ANJEE's Conference Committee would like to thoroughly THANK all those who made our 25th Annual ANJEE Conference such an amazing success. Our thanks go out to EVERYBODY involved - Presenters, Exhibitors, Sponsors, Advertisers, Participants, Wyndham staff, and all the committee volunteers. Over three hundred participants attended seventy-six workshops, presentations and plenary sessions; visited twenty-seven exhibitors; and enjoyed incredibly valuable networking / professional development time in a truly splendid conference venue.
Some quick highlights: The chilly weather didn't prevent birdwatching, owl-prowling, tree ID, or stargazing. Keynote speaker Cheryl Charles stressed the importance of direct nature experience for children. Brian Day, Executive Director of NAAEE, anticipated changes that passage of "No Child Left Inside" legislation would bring. Dale Rosselet, Chair of NJCEE, reaffirmed the need for New Jersey to seize the moment. Representative Rush Holt (D-NJ 12) spoke of his ambitions for EE nationwide and reminded us that nature has its own language; all we need to do is understand it. All this was topped-off with an emotional awards reception and a fun-filled evening.
All of us left the conference feeling fulfilled and happy, full of energy and ideas for the 2011 Conference. (OK, we admit it: we were a little tired, but we soon recovered). Thanks again to everyone for making the conference such a success. We look forward to working with you in the coming months and seeing you back at the Wyndham in January. In the meantime, keep checking the section below for breaking news on ANJEE Conference 2011.
Yours faithfully.
